Lifelong Learning

Exploration and discovery are a vital part of living well and play a key role in healthy aging. In fact, studies show that people who stay stimulated intellectually throughout life are typically happier and healthier. Parsons Presbyterian Manor residents routinely participate in activities that keep them engaged in the community and the world through our lifelong learning programs.

  • Our well-stocked library offers a wide selection of books and magazines which residents may access at their leisure.
  • The computer in our coffee shop puts a full range of digital resources at our residents’ fingertips.
  • The large flat-panel screen and audio/video equipment in the assisted living activity room and chapel enhance our residents’ enjoyment of presentations and movies.

Just Ask

Our Just Ask Lifelong Learning series offers topics of interest to the broader community as well as our residents. Just Ask topics have included wills, balance and falls, winter/summer safety, recognizing the warning signs Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia and recognizing the signs of heart attack and stroke.

Besides the resources available on campus, Parsons is home to Labette Community College, a vibrant downtown, and numerous other venues for activity and learning.
