Meet social services director Babette Collins

The social services department at Parsons Presbyterian Manor is important in creating the most person-centered care for residents to ensure they have the best quality of life possible.

As the social services director, Babette Collins manages staff, practices and procedures to ensure the department and community is meeting the day-to-day needs of residents. She said staff members focus on resident empowerment, self-determination and resident-centered care.

Some of Babette’s duties include completing social histories, cognitive and mood assessment, care planning, collaborating with other service providers, discharge planning and referrals.

Babette said the residents are her reason for working hard each day.

“Providing the best quality of life for our residents is what makes me love my job so much,” she said.

She’s grateful to be working with such a dedicated staff.

“Having a great group of staff that care for our residents is a reward,” she said. “The staff are hardworking and caring individuals that give all they can to provide the best quality care for our residents, which makes my job even easier.”

Supportive staff and management also make Babette’s job easier.

“The great staff and leadership team we have here not only makes my department successful, but makes it a great place to work,” she said.
