Assisted living supervisor embraces family atmosphere at Presbyterian Manor

For Assisted Living Supervisor Rachel Schneider, what really stands out about Parsons Presbyterian Manor is the shared sense of family.

“PMMA really embraces the family atmosphere. Staff here are welcoming and helpful to all who walk in the door,” Rachel said. “The staff develops relationships with our family members and genuinely cares how they are.”

Rachel also feels supported in her work by staff members who are always eager to lend a helping hand or share their knowledge. She knows her questions will always be met with answers from colleagues.

“I know that I can always reach out to my co-workers if I need help, have a question or just want to get some feedback on an idea or situation,” Rachel said. “Everyone will pitch in whenever and wherever needed.”

That sense of family is important to Rachel, as she is the mother of three children: Taylor, Dakota and Ava. She and her fiancé Paul sit on the sidelines cheering on the kids’ sports teams and enjoy time together at their favorite fishing hole.

“Family is really important to me,” Rachel said.

Before joining Presbyterian Manor about eight months ago, Rachel was the executive director at Oswego Home Place. Prior to moving to Parsons, she was a home health manager for 10 years at Nature’s Point Assisted Living in Minnesota.

“My passion has always been working with the elderly population,” Rachel said. “It’s an amazing feeling to help someone, and I love making our residents smile and feel safe, comfortable and happy. It’s also rewarding to have residents or family members thank you or give you a hug. Our residents here become part of our family, too. Knowing I can come to work and help people every day, even if it is in a small way, is why I chose to be a nurse.”

Rachel is an asset to Parsons Presbyterian Manor, and we’re grateful for her dedicated service.
