Parsons Presbyterian Manor shares COVID-19 update 2/4/22

Two contractors and three employees at Parsons Presbyterian Manor tested positive for COVID-19 this week.

One non-direct resident care contractor, one direct resident care contractor and three non-direct resident care employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The employees and contractors last worked dates between Thursday, January 27 and Wednesday, February 2, passing pre-shift screening and wearing personal protective equipment as required. Employees who were at work when the results were received were immediately notified and sent home to quarantine.

We have notified the Labette County Health Department. Employee surveillance testing will continue in compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements. There have now been 10 employee and two contractor cases identified at our campus since January 13.

We will follow the PMMA® Emergent Infectious Disease (EID) policy and KDHE and CDC guidance in determining when employees may return to work and restrictions upon returning to work.

Residents will be monitored for signs and symptoms of respiratory illness and COVID-19 on every shift and tested as needed. Visitation continues with screening and precautions outlined by CMS.

Staff members and residents are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines and best practices as these are continually updated.  

Every person who receives the vaccine will strengthen the protection for all residents, staff and the community at-large. PMMA strongly encourages our families, employees and residents to carefully consider obtaining a vaccine for themselves as well as their loved ones.
