Parsons Presbyterian Manor shares COVID-19 update 2/25/22

Two employees at Parsons Presbyterian Manor tested positive for COVID-19 this week.

Two essential health care workers tested positive for COVID-19 during surveillance testing. The employees last worked Monday, February 21, passing pre-shift screening and wearing personal protective equipment as required.

Parsons Presbyterian Manor has notified the Labette County Health Department. Employee surveillance testing will continue in compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements. The community has now identified 9 new cases at our community – five employees and four residents.

The senior living community will follow the PMMA® Emergent Infectious Disease (EID) policy and KDHE and CDC guidance in determining when employees may return to work and restrictions upon returning to work.

Residents will be monitored for signs and symptoms of respiratory illness and COVID-19 on every shift and tested as needed. Visitation continues with screening and precautions outlined by CMS.

Staff members and residents are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines and best practices as these are continually updated.  

Every person who receives the vaccine will strengthen the protection for all residents, staff and the community at-large. PMMA strongly encourages our families, employees and residents to carefully consider obtaining a vaccine for themselves as well as their loved ones.
