Phyllis Hollins celebrates 30 years with Presbyterian Manor

When Phyllis Hollins moved to Kansas, Parsons Presbyterian Manor was the first place she applied for a job.

“I had never worked at a nursing home before, so I thought I would give it a try,” she said.

Thirty years later, she’s still here, serving health care and assisted living residents in her role as a certified medical assistant.

Presbyterian Manor celebrated Phyllis’ big anniversary with a reception that included balloons, flowers, snacks and soda pop.

A Facebook post celebrating Phyllis’ work milestone generated many appreciative comments from current and former coworkers as well as family members of residents.

“Phyllis is an exceptional caregiver and a warm caring person to all,” one read. “I have many good memories of her with my mother — she definitely was a day-brightener … Phyllis, you deserve the recognition!”

For her part, Phyllis says she just shows up and does her job. Her favorite part of it? Visiting with the residents.

“They have a lot of interesting things to say,” she said.
