Parsons Presbyterian Manor employee tests positive for COVID-19 1/14/22

A non-direct resident care employee at Parsons Presbyterian Manor tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

The employee last worked Wednesday, January 12, passing pre-shift screening and wearing personal protective equipment as required. The employee tested positive on a rapid point-of-care test off campus, and the result was confirmed Friday with the results of surveillance testing at the senior living community.

We have notified the Labette County Health Department. Contact tracing is underway and we will follow health department guidance on testing and monitoring any at-risk residents and employees. Employee surveillance testing will continue in compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements.

We will follow the PMMA® Emergent Infectious Disease (EID) policy and KDHE and CDC guidance in determining when employees may return to work and restrictions upon returning to work.

Residents will be monitored for signs and symptoms of respiratory illness and COVID-19 on every shift.

Staff members and residents are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines and best practices as these are continually updated.  

Every person who receives the vaccine will strengthen the protection for all residents, staff and the community at-large. PMMA strongly encourages our families, employees and residents to carefully consider obtaining a vaccine for themselves as well as their loved ones.
